(J. Jett/J. Allen)

Are you my lover
Or just fancy covers
That I hold at night
I wish upon a star
With my eyes shut tight
That my hopes and dreams
Will be recognized
Cause it's fun with you
Yeah, it's fun with you

And I know what you want
And I know what you need
I feel your heartbeat, heartbeat

I know what you want
And I know what you need
I feel your heartbeat
I feel your heartbeat

Sometimes I wonder
Where is that thunder
You had the other day
Watching your eyes burn
For the love you won't return
It's right next to you
Don't you let it slip through
Cause it's fun with you
Yeah, it's fun with you

And I know what you want
And I know what you need
I feel your heartbeat, heartbeat

I know what you want
And I know what you need
I feel your heartbeat
I feel your heartbeat

I feel your heartbeat
I feel your heartbeat

Heartbeat
Heartbeat
Heartbeat
Heartbeat
Heartbeat
Heartbeat
Heartbeat
Heartbeat

I feel your heartbeat
I feel your heartbeat (heartbeat)
I feel your heartbeat (heartbeat)
I feel your heartbeat
I do
Oh yeah

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

After splitting with The Runaways, and releasing her first solo album, Joan Jett placed an ad in LA Weekly looking for bandmates. Gary Ryan, Eric Ambel, and Danny “Furious” O'Brien joined her, creating the orginial Blackhearts lineup.

After their initial tour though, O'Brien was replaced with Lee Crystal.

Early on, keeping the band afloat was not easy. Joan and producer Kenny Laguna struggled, sometimes selling copies of albums from the trunk of his car. Eventually unable to keep up with the demand for Joan Jett’s album, they signed with Boardwalk Records.
