Songwriter: Joan Jett

It's a thin string between love and death
She's close enough that I can feel her breath
The tenuous can't meant in this world
Spirit left her body, I'm still a little girl
I'm at the point of life now I think about
My own mortality and how it all works out
I live the best I could but was that a bluff?
I've seen myself in wonder, was that good enough?

[Chorus:]
Fragile
Life is so fragile
Fragile
Life is so fragile
Now!
I took your ass for granted
And now you know
I doubt that we'll recover
It was a fatal, blow
Giving into impulse
Was that a sin?
Momentary pleasure
It really did me in

[Chorus:]
Fragile
Love is so fragile
Fragile
Haunt is so fragile
F.R.A.G.I.L.E!
Fragile!
F.R.A.G.I.L.E!
Fragile!
Fragile
Life is so fragile
Fragile
Love is so fragile
Fragile
Haunt is so fragile
Fragile
I'm stronger than fragile
Fragiiiiile!
Fragiiiiile!
Hey!
Hey!

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

After splitting with The Runaways, and releasing her first solo album, Joan Jett placed an ad in LA Weekly looking for bandmates. Gary Ryan, Eric Ambel, and Danny “Furious” O'Brien joined her, creating the orginial Blackhearts lineup.

After their initial tour though, O'Brien was replaced with Lee Crystal.

Early on, keeping the band afloat was not easy. Joan and producer Kenny Laguna struggled, sometimes selling copies of albums from the trunk of his car. Eventually unable to keep up with the demand for Joan Jett’s album, they signed with Boardwalk Records.
