[Verse 1]
What were you thinking?
I guess I'll never know
See your eyes blinking
Pupils begin to grow
Drilling you softly
Pulling you in
Making your mind up
What's sick or a sin

[Chorus]
Open up now, let it all go
I'm quite certain, say it ain't so
You're corrupted by some sick fuck
Oh, no!
Open up now, head in the sky
Here's the tongue that keeps telling lies
Feelings in my mouth
You breathe in but can't breathe out

[Verse 2]
What you've been taking
It makes you talk real slow
How come I'm thinking
You'd be the last to know?
Choking you gently
Gaining control
Hand you the shovel
To dig your own hole

[Chorus]
Open up now, let it all go
I'm quite certain, say it ain't so
You're corrupted by some sick fuck
Oh, no!
Open up now, head in the sky
Here's the tongue that keeps telling lies
Feelings in my mouth
You breathe in but can't breathe out

[Bridge]
Choking you gently
Gaining control
Hand you the shovel
To dig your own hole
Open up now, let it all go, ah
Open up now, let it all go, ah

[Chorus]
Open up now, head in the sky
Here's the tongue that keeps telling lies
Feelings in my mouth
You breathe in but can't breathe out
You breathe in but can't breathe out

Bakersfield friends James “Munky” Shaffer, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu and David Silveria formed the funk-rock band LAPD in 1989 and moved to Los Angeles with another friend Brian “Head” Welch as their roadie. Later, with Welch as second guitarist, the band named themselves Creep and recorded a demo with pal Ross Robinson.

However, when Shaffer and Welch visited family in Bakersfield, they met Jonathan Davis who added a darker, goth-tinged edge to the band’s heavy groove. Robinson

The band wasn’t dark yet; it had, like, killer grooves and good riffs, but there was some happy edge to it. And when (Davis) walked into the room, it went dark and goth. Basically, during the first song, to audition in the rehearsal room, he started freaking the hell out [laughs]. You couldn’t hear his voice, but you felt chills all over your body, and it was instantly like, “Oh my God, yeah – he’s the one.”
