[Verse 1]
You're the infection, my friend
Disgusting right to the end
Didn't I know it then?
I knew it, I knew it
You're basic, but hard to define
Simple, yet somehow sublime
Know you will strike again
I knew it, I knew it

[Chorus 1]
You're all that's wrong
With your dumbass song
Yeah, that's all that you will ever be
Nothing you can do
'Cause that's all that you will ever be

[Verse 2]
Polished, you shimmer when shined
But rotten and seething inside
Everyone falls for this
I knew it, I knew it

[Chorus 2]
You're all that's wrong
With your dumbass song
Yeah, that's all that you will ever be
Nothing you can do
'Cause that's all that you will…
That's all that you will…
That's all that you will ever be

[Bridge]
Ever be, never be, want to be God
Oh to be, need to be, holding the sod
Throwing it, breaking it, over your grave
Sending you back to the place you once came
It would be hard to be you
Knowing the right thing to do

[Chorus 1]
You're all that's wrong
With your dumbass song
Yeah, that's all that you will ever be
Nothing you can do
'Cause that's all that you will ever be

[Outro]
Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be
Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be
Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be
You will never be (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
You will never be (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
You will never be (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
You wanna be God (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
You wanna be God (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
You wanna be God (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
It's all God
(Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
It's all God (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
God (It's all God) (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
It's all God (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
God (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
It's all God (Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)
(Ever be, never be, wannabe, gonna be)

Bakersfield friends James “Munky” Shaffer, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu and David Silveria formed the funk-rock band LAPD in 1989 and moved to Los Angeles with another friend Brian “Head” Welch as their roadie. Later, with Welch as second guitarist, the band named themselves Creep and recorded a demo with pal Ross Robinson.

However, when Shaffer and Welch visited family in Bakersfield, they met Jonathan Davis who added a darker, goth-tinged edge to the band’s heavy groove. Robinson

The band wasn’t dark yet; it had, like, killer grooves and good riffs, but there was some happy edge to it. And when (Davis) walked into the room, it went dark and goth. Basically, during the first song, to audition in the rehearsal room, he started freaking the hell out [laughs]. You couldn’t hear his voice, but you felt chills all over your body, and it was instantly like, “Oh my God, yeah – he’s the one.”
