Just a small town girl
Broke my heart like a small town girl
She lied to my face, then she slept around
And she dug my heart right into the ground
Six feet under, under the covers
And I thought that maybe she could be a little bit more than a bit of a whore
I guess not
She was from that M I S S I S S I P P I
She’s from the Mississippi River and she’s looking to find
Another lover to spend all the nickels and dimes on her
On her
So should I hang around or start running away?
Cause every time I stay
She leaves my heart on the floor
What you doing this for?
I gave her all of my all of my lovin
Oh, but she threw it and threw it away
I gave her all of my all of my lovin
Oh, but she threw it and threw it away
Ooh
She threw it and threw it away
No
Just a big city kid, never really thought I’d be in this type of shit but
She was like a thief in the night
I thought that maybe she could make herself a good bride- wrong
Thought the stars were aligned- wrong
Thought she was from the east side- wrong
Oh, no wrong wrong
She’s from the Mississippi River and she’s looking to find
Another man to spend their money
So should I hang around or start running away?
Cause every time I stay
She leaves my heart on the floor
What you doing this for?
I gave her all of my all of my lovin
Oh, but she threw it and threw it away
I gave her all of my all of my lovin
Oh, but she threw it and threw it away
Ooh
She threw it and threw it away
No
I gave you all of my lovin
And you threw it away
Cause you and me got nothin in common
You and me got nothin in common
I should have turned and ran away
I don’t know why I decided to stay
I gave her all of my all of my lovin
Oh, but she threw it and threw it away
I gave her all of my all of my lovin
Oh, but she threw it and threw it away
Ooh
She threw it and threw it away
No
Why’d you throw out my lovin?
Why’d you throw out my lovin?

blackbear

blackbear is the stage name of LA-based producer and singer-songwriter Mat Musto, popularly known for co-writing Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” in 2012. Some of his first collaborations were with the likes of Pharrell Williams, MGK, and Childish Gambino. Later, Musto reinvented himself—he coined the name blackbear from a previous EP titled Year of the Blackbear. Under his new name, he started leaning more towards rapping and an R&B-oriented style.

His first mixtape Sex included collaborations with his peers James Blake, Maejor Ali, and “Boyfriend” co-writer Mike Posner. The Afterglow followed in 2014.

In 2015, blackbear released “idfc,” as the lead single from his debut album Deadroses. It increased his fan following and revenue, earning him millions of playback streams and a spot on Billboard’s Uncharted List of Undiscovered and Upcoming Artists. The second single, “90210,” included a feature from G-Eazy—blackbear made an appearance in his 2014 track, “Remember You.”
