[Verse 1: Delisa Davis]
Close your eyes
Fantasize
Visualize
Your body next to mine

Can you see
You and me
Caressing on each other
Tenderly

[Pre-Chorus 1: Delisa Davis]
Wo-oh, a love like this can carry us
Anywhere around the world
'Cause, honey babe, you're my magic man
And I'm your magic girl

[Chorus: Delisa Davis]
Even when we're not together
This love could go on forever
Oh-oh
No matter where
I can be there
Whenever you need me

[Verse 2: Howard Hewett]
My love is true
It's not somethin' I can hide
Can't keep it inside, I want you to know
Girl, it's only for you

See I'm a man with pride
I hope you realize
I hear everything you say
And girl, I feel the same

[Pre-Chorus 2: Howard Hewett]
A love like this could carry us
Anywhere around the world
Sweet sugar-baby, I'm your magic man
And you're my magic girl

[Chorus: Howard Hewett]
Even if we are not together
This love could go on forever
No matter where
I'm gonna be there
Whenever you need me, yeah, ooh-ooh

[DX7 Harmonica Solo]

[Pre-Chorus 3: Delisa & Howard]
A love like this could carry us
Anywhere around the world
'Cause, honey babe, you're my magic man
And you're my magic girl

[Chorus: Delisa & Howard]
Even when we're not together
This love could go on forever
Oh-oh, oh-oh
No matter where, no matter where

[Outro: Delisa & Howard]
(Whenever you need me)
Oooh
(Need me)
Just pick up the telephone
(Call, I'll be there)
Just to turn you on
(Whenever you nee-eed me)
Ooh-oh
(Call me, I'll be there)
I'll be there, baby
(Whenever you need me)
Fantasize
(Need me)
I'll fantasize about your love
Danger eyes
(Call, I'll be there)
Your body next to mine
(Whenever you nee-eed me)
Close your eyes
Sweet girl
Picture your body next to mine
(Call me, I'll be there)
I'll be there
(Whenever you need me)
Imagine me
Imagine me, girl
(Need me)
That I am near
Ooh-ooh
(Call me, I'll be there)
I'm near, near...

Shalamar

Shalamar is an American R&B and soul music vocal group, active in the mid-1970s and throughout the 1980s. Their original lineup consisted of Jeffrey Daniel, Jody Watley, and Gary Mumford. The group went through various lineup changes throughout the years, with Mumford replaced by Gerald Brown, and again by Howard Hewett. The lineup of Daniel, Hewett, and Watley was the most successful, selling two Platinum albums (Three For Love, Friends) and one Gold album (Big Fun).

Despite more lineup changes in the ‘80s, the group still churned out hits such as “Dancing in the Sheets” and “Don’t Get Stopped in Beverly Hills”, which won them a Grammy.

Daniel, Hewett, and Watley eventually reunited several times in the ‘90s and as recently as 2015, playing in the UK where they’ve had the most success.
