[Verse 1]
Turn the TV on when I lay in bed
Try to drown the noise pounding in my head
'Cause I can't let go of the things we said

[Pre-Chorus]
Now when I, I've been talking in my sleep
And I ain't heard from you in weeks
I thought I had your heart for keeps

[Chorus]
Please give me more anesthesia
You left me right when I need ya
Sometimes at night I can feel ya
Under the knife, the blinding light
And I need ya
And I, and I, and I need ya
And I, and I, and I need ya
And I, and I, and I need ya
And I need ya, anesthesia

[Verse 2]
Now it's 2:00 a.m. and I'm wide awake
And I need a fix just to numb the pain
Never felt so sick since you went away

[Pre-Chorus]
Now when I, I've been talking in my sleep
And I ain't heard from you in weeks
I thought I had your heart for keeps

[Chorus]
Please give me more anesthesia
You left me right when I need ya
Sometimes at night I can feel ya
Under the knife, the blinding light
And I need ya
And I, and I, and I need ya
And I, and I, and I need ya
And I, and I, and I need ya
And I need ya, anesthesia

Alec Benjamin

After getting dropped by Columbia Records at 18 years old, singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin built a following by playing in parking lots outside of Shawn Mendes and Troye Sivan concerts. The Phoenix, Arizona native caught the attention of Jon Bellion, earning a songwriting credit on Bellion’s debut album and later joined him on tour.

To build on the momentum, Benjamin began uploading new songs to his YouTube channel at a rapid clip and eventually earned on a viral hit with “I Built a Friend” and a deal with Atlantic Records.

Benjamin connects to listeners by incorporating using his life struggles to tell stories and give meaning to his songs. You can see this in “Let Me Down Slowly,” “Paper Crown,” “I Built a Friend,” “Death of a Hero,” and “If We Have Each Other.”
