[Verse 1]
You and me, birds and owls
All these sounds that hold you down
'Til you're home-bound
Right from wrong, I write a song
I knew the lyrics all along
This could be a masterpiece
You know, you know you're my best work

[Pre-Chorus]
The more that I try, the longer you're gone
The more I start to find the words to fill this empty space
And I will try to love you now, but everyone's in the way
I start to write it down, and I just fill the whole song
With nothing but you, fill the whole song

[Chorus]
With nothing but you, nothing but you
Another day, another song about you, mm, mm

[Verse 2]
Oh, every rhyme, lost track of time
The more I need you, I rewind
And I replay every day
Oh, what to sing and what to say
The radio, I let it play
Every song I hear's the same

[Pre-Chorus]
The more that I try, the longer you're gone
The more I start to find the words to fill this empty space
And I will try to love you now, but everyone's in the way
I start to write it down, and I just fill the whole song
With nothing but you, fill the whole song

[Chorus]
With nothing but you, nothing but you
Another day, another song about you, mm, mm

blackbear

blackbear is the stage name of LA-based producer and singer-songwriter Mat Musto, popularly known for co-writing Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” in 2012. Some of his first collaborations were with the likes of Pharrell Williams, MGK, and Childish Gambino. Later, Musto reinvented himself—he coined the name blackbear from a previous EP titled Year of the Blackbear. Under his new name, he started leaning more towards rapping and an R&B-oriented style.

His first mixtape Sex included collaborations with his peers James Blake, Maejor Ali, and “Boyfriend” co-writer Mike Posner. The Afterglow followed in 2014.

In 2015, blackbear released “idfc,” as the lead single from his debut album Deadroses. It increased his fan following and revenue, earning him millions of playback streams and a spot on Billboard’s Uncharted List of Undiscovered and Upcoming Artists. The second single, “90210,” included a feature from G-Eazy—blackbear made an appearance in his 2014 track, “Remember You.”
