[Verse 1]
You gave me back your key
You did, you did, you did
I gave you back your love
I did, I did, I did

[Pre-Chorus 1]
Now on the morning I'm putting on my black dress
I hate you now, but you used to be my bestest friend
Now on the morning I'm putting on my black dress
My black dress

[Chorus]
I'll take mine and you'll take yours
Hellfire and slamming doors
Love is dead and that's for sure
So we, we keep dancing with these swords
It didn't have to end this way
But two stopping hearts, they love too much the same
So I'll take mine and you'll take yours
And we, we keep dancing with these swords

[Post-Chorus]
(Ha, ha, ha, ha)
We keep dancing with these swords

[Verse 2]
Don't ever call my phone
Cause I'm not listening
And when you feel alone
Don't think of me again

[Pre-Chorus 2]
I know how it goes, 'cause we've seen it all a thousand times
This ain't the movies, yeah, we're way past the point of goodbye
Know how it goes, 'cause we've seen it all a thousand times
A thousand times

[Chorus]
I'll take mine and you'll take yours
Hellfire and slamming doors
Love is dead and that's for sure
So we, we keep dancing with these swords
It didn't have to end this way
But two stopping hearts, they love too much the same
So I'll take mine and you'll take yours
And we, we keep dancing with these swords

[Bridge]
It didn't have to end this way (Ha!)
It didn't have to end this way (Ha!)
It didn't have to end this way (Ha!)
But we, we keep dancing with these swords

[Chorus]
I'll take mine and you'll take yours
Hellfire and slamming doors
Love is dead and that's for sure
So we, we keep dancing with these swords
It didn't have to end this way
But two stopping hearts, they love too much the same
So I'll take mine and you'll take yours
And we, we keep dancing with these swords

[Outro]
It didn't have to end this way (Ha!)
It didn't have to end this way (Ha!)
It didn't have to end this way (Ha!)
But we, we keep dancing with these swords

Charli XCX

Charlotte Emma Aitchison (born 2 August 1992), known professionally as Charli XCX, is an English singer-songwriter known for her eclectic style. She began making music at fourteen, and her debut release was a 2008 limited-edition album aptly titled 14.

By 2010, Charli signed to Atlantic Records, and released her debut single “Stay Away” in May 2011. She released her “real” debut album, True Romance, in 2013. The record met critical acclaim but failed to attain much commercial success. Charli’s true breakthrough came with the release of hit collaborations like Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” and Icona Pop’s “I Love It.”

In April 2014, Charli found solo success with “Boom Clap,” which was featured on the soundtrack of The Fault in Our Stars. It’s now certified triple platinum in the United States and gold in her native United Kingdom. Her sophomore album, Sucker, was a pop-punk oriented effort and enjoyed more success than her debut. “Break The Rules,” “Doing It” (featuring Rita Ora), and “Famous” all performed well on the UK singles chart.
