I never thought I would be the one
To fall a victim, victim to my song
Of wanting you, you in every way
For that's how I feel about you night and day, yeah

All my thoughts of being with you
Are as pure as the snow
There’s no place that I would rather be
(Hey-hey)
Than with you forever and ever

I wanna be, I want to be
In your company, hey, oh...
I wanna be, I want to be
Hey-hey, yeah
In your company, oh, oh, oh...

Sometimes when I'm all alone
The only alley is to call you on the phone
'Cause you’re not there, so I go to my room
Pull out your picture and think of you, yeah

All my thoughts of being with you
Are as pure as the falling snow
There's no place that I would rather be
Than with you forever and ever

I wanna be, girl, I want to be
In your company, hey-hey
I wanna be, girl, I want to be
You and me, you and me, you and me
In your company
Na, na, na, na-na-na, na, na, na

I wanna be, I want to be
In your company, girl, I wanna be
I wanna be, I want to be
In your company, mm-hmm...

I wanna be, I want to be
Hey, yeah, hey, yeah, I want to be
In your company, girl can't you see
Yeah, yeah
I wanna be, I want to be
'Cause you comfort me
In your company
Yes, you do, yes, you do
You know you do, mm-hmm

I wanna be, I want to be
I'd rather have you in my world
In your company
'Cause you are the only girl for me
I wanna be, I want to be
In your company, baby
Ooh-ooh...

I wanna be, I want to be
In your company

Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang is an American jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and disco group from Jersey City. They were originally named the Jazziacs when they formed the group in 1964.

They went through several musical phases during their recording career, starting out with a purist jazz sound, then funk and R&B, progressing to a smooth pop-funk ensemble, and in the post-millennium creating music with a modern, electro-pop sound.

The group was becoming prominent in the music industry in the 1970s with hits such as “Holly Wood Swinging”, “Jungle Boogie” and “Summer Madness”. However they cemented their legendary status after the addition of lead vocalist James “J.T.” Taylor. With his help they went on to create classic hits such as “Ladies Night”, “Celebration”, “Get Down On It”, “Cherish” and countless others.
