[Verse 1]
How many shots do you miss
Before you get one in?
How many times do you drown
Before you learn to swim? Uh
Been a million places, places
Never heard a new line
I don't know
Seen a million faces, faces
Never recognized one like yours

[Pre-Chorus]
Started with a look across the bar
Barely had a drink, I’m trippin' on
Tattoo of your woman on your arm
Don't know how we wound up in your car
Doin’ eighty-five down PCH
Right outside the crib, so you should stay
And now I didn't even know your name
And now I know I'll never be the same

[Chorus]
I will never be the same without you
I will never be the same
I will never be the same without you
No, no oh
I will never be the same without you
I will never be the same
I will never be the same without you
No, no oh

[Verse 2]
Yeah, how many seeds do you plant
Before it starts to grow?
Guess what they say it's true
And you know, you know

[Pre-Chorus]
Started with a look across the bar
Barely had a drink, I'm trippin' on
Tattoo of your woman on your arm
Don't know how we wound up in your car
Doin' eighty-five down PCH
Right outside the crib, so you should stay
And now I didn’t even know your name
And now I know I’ll never be the same

[Chorus]
I will never be the same without you
I will never be the same
I will never be the same without you
No, no oh
I will never be the same without you
I will never be the same
I will never be the same without you
No, no oh

[Bridge]
They say "why you change?"
I say "why would you wanna be the same?"
"Why you changing?"
I say "why would you wanna?" no oh
They say "why you change?"
I say "why would you wanna be the same?"
"Why you changing?"
I say "why would you wanna" no oh

[Chorus]
I will never be the same without you
I will never be the same
I will never be the same without you
No, no oh
I will never be the same without you
I will never be the same
I will never be the same without you
No, no oh

Tinashe

Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe, known mononymously as Tinashe, is an American singer-songwriter, actress, dancer, and former model born in Lexington, Kentucky and raised in Los Angeles, California.

Born on February 6, 1993, her rise to fame began with her acting on shows such as Two and a Half Men. Initially making her debut in the music industry via the short-lived girl group The Stunners—which also featured Hayley Kiyoko—she garnered attention from online music blogs with her 2012 mixtape, In Case We Die. Signing with RCA Records shortly after, she released two further mixtapes later that year and in 2013: Reverie and Black Water respectively. “2 On” was released in January 2014 as the lead single from her debut album, Aquarius, and remains her biggest solo single to date. Released in October that year, the album was praised by critics for its merging of old-school R&B sounds and fresh 2010s trends. The follow-up was subjected to much-criticised although “Player” was billed as the collection’s lead single as early as October 2015, songs released from the project failed to reach the label’s expectations, resulting in the release of an album’s worth of outtakes from the album, Nightride, in November 2016. Joyride was finally released on April 13: it features the singles “No Drama”, “Faded Love” and “Me So Bad”.

On February 18, 2019, Tinashe parted ways with her longtime record label RCA. By November that year, she inked a new management deal with Roc Nation and self-released Songs for You, her fourth studio album.
