[Chorus: RoZe]
I told myself I don't need no help
I can do this all on my own (all on my own)
Just give me time, 'cause I'm gon' shine
As soon as I'm in my zone (I'm in my zone)
You thought I'd fail, but I prevailed
I guess that I proved you wrong (yeah)
So the next time I cross your mind
Or when you hear my song
Put your hands up
(Put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up)
Put your hands up
(Put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up)
Put your hands up
(Put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up)
Put your hands up
(Put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up, yeah)
Put your hands up

[Verse 1: Abstract]
Watchin' MTV
Dreaming 'bout a cypher up on BET
Tell my mom that's me, sittin' VIP
A-Team worldwide till I D-I-E
Cause T-H-E-Y never believed in I
Trying to belittle my riddles and bring me down, they tried
Always knew I'd rise if I just stuck to my mind
They trying to see if I'm strong enough, kept my weapons inside
Kept honesty on my tongue; kept that smoke in my lungs
This ain't 2008, my family lacking in funds
Tryna go out and get it and put you back where it was
And I know I can do it, thousands been showin' me love
Life tried to change me, arrange me, erase me from who I am
Always been a creative, I'll make it, this was the plan
Life fell apart so my future could fall together
Shoutout to my broken heart, who knew you would make me better?

[Verse 2: Abstract]
Swear I'm tryna get a Grammy
Dedicated to my granny
Just so this could make a little sense to my family
Explainin' what my plan is, they got trouble understanding
Explaining what I do got me explaining the internet
"So you give this out for free? Son, you should be cashing checks"
Ain't that simple, this the world of digital, DatPiffable
Get a fanbase behind you, or it could be pivotal
These days music has never been more competitive
Compare me to myself, 'cause I don't fuck with comparisons
You wanna be the next what? Find that shit embarrassing
Aim to be the best you, that's what all the legends did
Shoutout to Dylan, John Lennon, Kurt, Big, Pac and Hendrix
Nas, Em, Ye, Jay, all I didn't mention
It's a long road, but I'm fightin' for the top
Hope one day to be included in those names I dropped

[Outro: RoZe]
I told myself I don't need no help
I can do this all on my own
Just give me time, cause I'm gon' shine
As soon as I'm in my zone
You thought I'd fail, but I prevailed
I guess that I proved you wrong
So the next time I cross your mind
Or when you hear my song

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
