Songwriter: Abstract

[Chorus]
Saw you drivin' down the highway yesterday
Nah, it wasn't you; I know you far away
Told me, "Don't worry, I'll be back someday"
Hope on what it seems, and it just seems that way
Lately all of my dreams been that way
Sayin' all the things I never got to say
Not that I forgot to say
It ain't okay, 'cause you never know if it could be the last day

[Verse 1]
Here's a story about a girl change a boy's life
Only there for a second, but she did right
Give anything just for another night
They say all is replaceable, ha! Not quite
All those people don't know it, but they been wrong
Won't be able to relate to the words in this song
Tried to make you feel, but without her I'd never felt
Maybe humbled as I learned all the cards she was dealt
No matter what her hand was, she played the game
Made me realize if she could that I could do the same
Livin' proof that strength grows from great pain
The haters try to keep you down, so you break chains
Go out and tell it how it is and take names
No time for the drama and useless mind games
She said, "This is the way I live my game"
I said, "Damn, try livin' the same"

[Verse 2]
You ever have someone come just when you need it
And leave a second before you're able to believe it?
Like when it's rainin' just when you wanna go outside
Maybe take a stroll, maybe take a bike ride
The clouds break—there's the sunshine!
So happy, gotta get ready, so you run inside
It'll be there for a while, think you got time
And it's gone before you even get your shoes tied
So when you feel, you can say it with no need to pretend it
A heartfelt call or text, just send it
Could be your last chance, so I recommend it
Time is somethin' that no one should ever mess with
Never know how fast somethin' could happen and ended
Take nothin' for granted, and friendship is a privilege
I had a past she taught me how to live with
Time we had was the best, I'm just sayin' that I miss it

It ain't okay, 'cause you never know if it could be the last day (day—damn)

[Verse 3]
Saw a girl from the back yesterday
Damn, thought it was you
I know it couldn't be anyway
But wishing's just all I can do
I know we gonna have more time together
And stressing 'cause I know I'll do whatever
When the hand's on a heart we think it's just there
Only when its left do we see the imprint left there
I'm talkin' 'bout the fingerprints on our soul
Some have left holes that others make whole
So that everyone you meet and make an impact
It could be a smile, it could be a laugh
It could be your first meaning or it could be your last
'Cause in the end, time moves too fast
And I'm hopin' for us it was the first
'Cause something that good ain't made for the worst

[Outro]
Saw you drivin' down the highway yesterday
Nah, it wasn't you; I know you far away
Told me, "Don't worry, I'll be back someday"
Hope on what it seems, and it just seems that way
Lately all of my dreams been that way
Sayin' all the things I never got to say
Not that I've forgot to say
But it's okay, I know you're gonna come back one day

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
