[Verse 1]
Yeah, headed for the top
Yeah, I see the signs, but they never saying stop
Ain't in it for the ride, little homie, you can walk
They say it's my time, hands clappin' on my watch
Yeah, wait for the applause
We ain't never changing, yo, we happy how we are
We here, got us here, so I know we gettin' far
A no-one yesterday, star by tomorrow
Life gave me lemons, but I'm waiting for the limelight
Haters gettin' mad when I tell 'em what my life's like (my life's like)
Every day I got some new fans
Reaching every goal, every day I got some new plans
And I knew it would happen
Somethin' so good came from something so tragic
And yeah, I'm done with this, it ain't the smell of burnt plastic
But when it come to real shit
Baby, you the last chick

[Chorus]
Guess the kid too real for them (real for them)
Dreams turned real, world turned pretend
Let 'em all get they strings pulled (strings pulled)
Thank God I'm a real boy
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Real shit, I ain't never been a decoy
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Thank God I'm a real boy

[Verse 2]
Yeah, I coulda quit when you told me to
But then we never see the part where you tell me "I'm proud of you"
They used to order me around, now they order me the rounds
Y'all just more paperweight; me, I really hold it down
'Cause I've been runnin' from the start
That's the way it goes when you runnin' from the heart
But I guess that I was runnin' from what tore that shit apart
Turn the pieces to mosaic, mean I turned that shit to art
They meant that I'm better than
Did that shit like Emerson
Took a shot and heard around the world, it was Ferdinand
Change in my pockets, still feelin' like a hundred grand
Used to be just be a boy with a plan, now up in the man
And what the hell? All of y'all scared to be yourselves
They say do this, do that, put your dreams up on a shelf
We ain't gonna listen, my ass—you can kiss it
These kids stop dreaming and it's up to me to fix it

[Chorus]
Guess the kid too real for them (real for them)
Dreams turned real, world turned pretend
Let 'em all get they strings pulled (strings pulled)
Thank God I'm a real boy
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Real shit, I ain't never been a decoy
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Thank God I'm a real boy

[Verse 3]
These kids skipped work, fuck marryin' next
Told their dreams they must forget
And that's not right, but it's so true
That you are best at being you
So don't ever let them change you
When the world is tryna break you down
They gonna try to replace you
Get up and go another round
'Cause we all too real for them
Let our dreams turn real, let 'em turn pretend
Let 'em all get they strings pulled
Thank God that we're all too real

[Chorus]
Guess the kid too real for them (real for them)
Dreams turned real, world turned pretend
Let 'em all get they strings pulled (strings pulled)
Thank God I'm a real boy
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Real shit, I ain't never been a decoy
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Thank God I'm a real boy

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
