[Verse 1]
All my life, did 'em right
Way too much I had to sacrifice
When you got the glow they all want the light
'Til they dim it so low you can lose your sight
Of who you are, what's your mission
You thought it was love but it's something different
So focused on the good things though
You don't notice they don't treat you like a good thing though
Gaslighting, hindsight is so frightening
Blindsighted, hit fast as grease lightning
Whiplashed, heart scabbed, your brain fried
Long nights traveling to the dark side
Construct the Death Star, revenge the best start
The vest is Kevlar, the rest is Braveheart
Playin' with my light, I don't take it lightly
I could let it go, but that isn't likely
Why I look for love in people who can't give it back? (Why?)
Why do they withdraw moment that I get attached? (Why?)
Why they gotta riff on all the drama of my past? (Why?)
Why I gotta trip like nothing's ever gonna last?
Used to being used but I'm sick of how it feels
Maybe it's a side effect of being too real
Now I know why everybody tend to turn fake
Hard to stay true when it's easy to escape

[Chorus]
They just wanna put me on ice
Plan B, never payin' full price
Deadly, girl I'm know I'm too nice
If you wanna cuff me, I'ma read you my rights
Put me on ice then I'm bound to go cold
I'm already iced out, I could freeze my soul
If you wanna love me, then you better grab hold
I don't do second place, look at all this gold (Gold)
Try to leave me cold and you'll leave me gold (Gold)
Try to break my heart, try to break my soul (Gold)
Turn it into art, turn it into gold (Gold)
Tried to chain me up 'til my chains went nuts and my wrist went cold

[Verse 2]
Frozen, so go bust me open
I'm used to copin', too used to broken
Know this: the cracks turn me golden
I shine through times where most get corroded
I could never let somebody break my soul
Especially if I'm aware that theirs ain't whole
I don't have the time for a cycle that is toxic
Shouldn't have the time to turn you into a topic
Venom in the lips of my enemy drainin' energy
Want me? Then you better be ready to want to better me
Treat me like a dog, you disrespectin' my Pedigree
Got a hell of a memory, look how deadly my pen will be
I load up the lyrics and fire bullets away
I know that you hear it, the verses come with grenades
When I go to war, I'm deadly within the page
I'm lacin' it with my rage, better pray that you're gettin' saved
Dreams get dark sometimes (Times)
My mind tells me lies (Lies)
My skies turn so black (Black)
Feel I can't come back
Whiplash with the way emotions flow
But I get cash off of how you played me, so
It ain't that bad long as I can keep my soul
That's why my neck iced out and my wrist went gold
It's a flex on anybody who tried to break me apart (Yeah)
Shine on anybody who brought me into the dark
I got watercolor tears, I turn it all into art
Put it on a stage and scream it out of my heart
Give it to the people who go through the same hurt
Do it for the people who grow through the same dirt
Overcomin' evil they know they never deserved
Shinin' after everything knowing their damn worth

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
