[Intro]
I wonder if I woke up somedays, I cannot be sure
'Cause I lived for these dreams way back when words were all they were
Scribbled down in pages, I was reckless in my youth
Never took my time to aim, my fingers itched to shoot

[Bridge]
Didn't mean to shoot you down
Your wings were over water
I didn't mean to let you drown
History will know the author
There was nothin' I could save
No, there was nothin' I could save
But I let the ink flow
Let the ink flow, let the ink flow anyway

[Verse 1]
Wounded animal level, the way I used to attack
There was blood in the water, I had a knife in my back
Used my lyrics to heal it, you feel my pain 'til you fear it
I air it out on the track but was too reckless for steerin'
You put a line in the sand between me and my friends
If you were chillin' where they're hangin', no one's lettin' me in
In those teenage years, you just wanna fit in
Swear a lotta lonely nights came from lettin' you in
'Cause I was—

[Chorus]
Feeling outside, inside you didn't know
Feelings inside, outside I didn't show
These fires burn through the sleet, hail, snow
Kept me warm through the days so cold
Feeling outside, inside you didn't know
Feelings inside, outside I didn't show
These fires burn through the sleet, hail, snow
Kept me warm through the days so cold

[Verse 2]
They say the pen is the mightiest sword
Weight that I swing a hit you can't afford
Drop to your knees 'fore I do it by force
Be ready for war
I forge my weapons myself, yeah
Mic made of steel, but spit fire 'til it start to melt
Smith it like battle-ax blades
Sharp as my mind, I got more on the way
Words turned to bullets
Trigger too temptin' for me not to pull it
Best stay out my way 'fore you turn to a target
Know my ex can tell you, became quite a marksman
No, I never miss
You do me wrong, I won't raise a fist
But I'll write a song, 'til you wish I did
Nothing hurts like the truth do
But I don't do it like I used to

[Verse 3]
Blinded by myself, eyes wrapped in my ways
Anger wrapped in my words, spite strapped to my waist
Guns go blazin' when I stepped on the track
Shoulda known how long that the recoil last
Sticks and stones hurt, but those chords could kill
Was an angry young man tryna vent, but still
Years since the spark and I still feel wrong
But it's strange, those same wrongs helped me write the songs
'Cause I was—

[Chorus]
Feeling outside, inside you didn't know
Feelings inside, outside I didn't show
These fires burn through the sleet, hail, snow
Kept me warm through the days so cold
Feeling outside, inside you didn't know
Feelings inside, outside I didn't show
These fires burn through the sleet, hail, snow
Kept me warm through the days so cold

[Outro]
And I don't do it like I used to (out my control)
Outside, inside you didn't know
Inside, outside we don't show (out my control)
Small, to out my control

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
