[Verse 1]
Lately I've been feelin' really lost a lot
But look at all these clicks that the work has got
But in the end it ain't really worth a lot
But I guess I made this really all I got
Made the choice to leave
Without a plan and with the means to dream
Forgot about one thing, yo, I need the team
Need people around me to see the vision as well
Move to a city where they never know me as well, nah
They won't sell, won't make it
Made a promise to the team, damned if I break it
Damn, I can't take it
Shit was goin' well, why the hell do I gotta go and try to replace it?
'Caught up in music when I needed my grades
Still hatin' on exes, wasn't actin' my age
Then I started to listen, they said it was all a phase
Steady losin' motivation we create in my days, man
I was goin' crazy
Wonderin' why the hell I ain't writin' lately
Light another one, actin' like it don't phase me
Laser one, laser two, late off a phase three, damn
Then I found the problem
They say pressure the change, expectations got 'em
So I decided goin' back to that school was a need
In that moment all that wait was fuckin' [nicked it?] for me
First time in a while a blank page I could read
Came out of my blindness, I can finally see
Like maybe gettin' my life back, yeah, that's what I need
Let's go; pour that drink up
'Cause this weed, these books, all I needed
Can't leave rap alone, the game need us
And yo, just so you know
This is what I gotta do, the only way I can grow, so

[Chorus]
Cashin' out a reality check
Bendin' over backwards, breakin' my neck
Lightin' up a Backwood, lost in this shit
Till the worries go away and I'm livin' with it, no
I don't want that
So let me go back
Strap on that backpack
Don't worry, still have that to frat rap
We back in here
We 'bout that life
We live those dreams
Tell you what's that like
We back in here (we back in here)
We 'bout that life (we 'bout that life)
We live those dreams (we live those dreams)
Show you what's that like

[Verse 2]
I don't inspire myself
I'm inspired by others
Bein' alone for so long
Man, it's makin' me wonder
Is it the man or the team?
You can try, but there ain't no "I" in "DREAM"
They want a piece of the pie when you gettin' the cream
But if they help make the dough then they surely can eat, man
But that's just the way I feel
Left school, hopin' I can move and strike up a deal
But just livin' life, I forget how it feels
And I gotta be honest, yo, I love it for real
So I gotta slow down, not rush my dreams
Be normal for a little, really all that I need
Been crankin' out tapes at amazin' speeds
Slow down so the fans can really read what I see, yeah

[Chorus]
Cashin' out a reality check
Bendin' over backwards, breakin' my neck
Lightin' up a Backwood, lost in this shit
Till the worries go away and I'm livin' with it, no
I don't want that
So let me go back
Strap on that backpack
Don't worry, still have that to frat rap
We back in here
We 'bout that life
We live those dreams
Tell you what's that like
We back in here
We 'bout that life
We live those dreams
Show you what's that like

[Outro]
I don't want that
So let me go back
Strap on that backpack
Don't worry, still have that to frat rap
We back in here
We 'bout that life
We live those dreams
Tell you what's that like
We back in here (we back in here)
We 'bout that life (we 'bout that life)
We live those dreams (we live those dreams)
Show you what's that like

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
