[Verse 1]
They always said there would be days like this
Caught up in the days, your life you miss
Makes you feel so old
Time keeps slippin' and you can't grab hold, now
Now it just won’t stop till you ain't sure what to do with the time you got
Those are the times you stop
Say, look at what happened and the life it brought
Remember sittin' in the backseat listenin' to Lennon
Only music that I knew of until I was seven
Around the time, started messin' with the grand piano
Never as good as my mother, man, I never hold a candle
Plus she made me sit through all the lessons
Teachers go through all my questions
Got older, graduated to electric strings
I was in the jet, instrument a shiny thing
Two years later, hopin' for that drum set
Move down to Jersey, to the wild—got a basement
When I would play, the whole place shook
Mom was yellin', father wasn't stressin' while she tryna cook
Started competin' and skiin', dropped all the music
Gave a girl my heart; it hit hard 'cause it got abused quick
That's what brought me back to beat, back on my feet
And now we do this

[Pre-Chorus]
Built up in a heartbreak
Asking, "How much can a heart take?"
Yeah, you can hate
Follow life's template, great
But this is what the heart make
Said, "Doctor, can you stop the pain?"
She said, "It seems you got something to say
So let it out
You speak from a point of view the world gonna need right now”

[Chorus]
The winds will blow
Tears will fall, oh
We're shaped by it all
The stars shine brightest when the moon's gone dark
When the loudest silence meets them brightest star

[Verse 2]
24/7, you know it, you do it
Man, you know that you're music
That's a life and a career I'm seeing you confuse quick
That's some friends I'm sayin' we both know you 'bout to lose quick
But you about to do fit
But not with who you feel with
You were 'bout to dive into the blue they never deal with
Always saw them Mellow Yellow shinin', that's the real shit
What you about to give is the truth
Another life bound to the booth
Picked it up to kill, but love addiction got addicted to that new prescription
Won't you listen while I try to grip it, agh?
'Scuse me, hearing a lotta Kendrick
Call Cue, Chance, god dammit, they really did it
Like to be remembered
As someone who did get it
Teach lessons through the fame
Make moves with the mere presence, I mean
Can I live that dream?
To what I think I got to try to switch these scenes
If they got my album open learnin' from that screen
Talkin 'bout the realest, knowin' the A's that team
A pipe dream
Now I light a pipe and might be seen
Made for this while my peers tryna fight these things
Thought's friendly fire when they tryna fight these kings
Kept running back the past, bringing me back home
All I know

[Chorus]
The winds will blow
Tears will fall, oh
We're shaped by it all
The stars shine brightest when the moon's gone dark
When the loudest silence meets them brightest star

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
