[Chorus]
If I ain't on my grind, then I'm wastin' time
If I ain't collectin' mind, then I'm wastin' shine
I'm headed up above, leave the world behind
I ain't lookin' for love, I'm lookin' for more time

[Verse 1]
Girl, you know I'm tryna get you like you was a metaphor
Never felt like this before, you got to feel the higher toe
You know how I am, of course
You got my grind, got on, of course
First plans here, I wasn't sure, now I know you what I am lookin' for
Memorizes, gee, what passed?
Slow it down, don't go too fast
Wanna take this beauty that I'm seein', girl, and make it last
Act a fool to see you laugh
Lately supposed to watch that
You say you got a boyfriend, tell him, "Welcome to your past" (past)
We know a girl like you is hard to find
Like the fit is on my head, girl, you always on my mind
Take a jump into my world, you may like what you might find
'Cause when you always on the grind, every day is a surprise
Girl, give me a little time, then we will be livin' fine
Get us livin' in a world truly of another kind
No more life off of my minds
Formality far behind
That's the kind of life you live when you man is on the rise

[Chorus]
If I ain't on my grind, then I'm wastin' time
If I ain't collectin' mind, then I'm wastin' shine
I'm headed up above, leave the world behind
I ain't lookin' for love, I'm lookin' for more time

[Verse 2]
Girl, you can grant my wish, I see you sittin' over there
I'm about to go fish you, alone, playin' solitaire
I'm about to throw a hook, come on baby, don't be scared
If you lookin' for the one, take a chance, I'm right here
Teach you what a real man lock, I can give you a lesson
I ain't tryna to stress it, hope that you gettin' the message
We can get it and never know and go separate directions
"Whatever" is "never," but five minutes could last forever
Let's take this time together, see what destiny delivers
Yeah, baby, that's all I ask
That's all I ask
Knew I had to act fast or you'd be that girl
That I just, once upon a time, passed
This is crazy, and I know that you might laugh
But baby, you're a present, so fuck your past
'Cause if you're down to do a little more than chat
We could make "once upon a time" last

[Chorus]
If I ain't on my grind (if I ain't on my grind), then I'm wastin' time (wastin' time)
If I ain't collectin' mind (mind), then I'm wastin' shine
I'm headed up above (up above), leave the world behind
I ain't lookin' for love (love), I'm lookin' for more time
If I ain't on my grind (if I ain't on my grind), then I'm wastin' time (wastin' time)
If I ain't collectin' mind (mind), then I'm wastin' shine
I'm headed up above (up above), leave the world behind
I ain't lookin' for love (love), I'm lookin' for more time

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
