Songwriter: Abstract

[Verse 1]
I know what it's like
To have somebody leave
'Specially when they was the one to give you what you need
Leave us so confused, don't know if you were meant to be
Caged in all that was, but you gotta let it free
'Cause you can't move up while you lookin' down
And if you got the motivation, then your time is now
Some days, though, I wish that you were still around
But baby, if you whistle, maybe I will hear the sound

[Bridge]
And it goes like
Uh-huh
Yeah, alright

[Verse 2]
Goddamn, girl, I wish that you could see me now
So close to goin' changin' my lifestyle
And if you were here, I know that'd you be so proud
'Cause you were always here when there was no one else around
Kinda crazy when you up-and-left
Only here for a sec, but how could I forget?
You probably have no idea how much that moment meant
But I've had a lot of time to find what it reflects
You taught me never to go care about what people say
And if I hadn't learned that, wouldn't be here today
You taught me that it gets better when the skies are gray
So even when my skies were rain, I went out and played

[Chorus]
And I don't know (I don't know)
If you're ever comin' back, so
If you hear this song (this song)
Whistle so that I know (oh)
That it ain't in vain
When you cross my brain (my brain)
'Cause I hope somewhere (-where)
That you feel the same (yeah!)

[Bridge]
And it goes like
And it goes like
Alright, haha

[Verse 3]
When I met you, yo, I only had a couple goals
That's what the world made me, 'cause the love is cold
Anytime I played my cards, yo, they made me fold
Kept it conservative, doin' what these rappers told
You told me, "be free," to do what I believe
And then the dream I conceived started bein' retrieved
She'd be so happy to see me winnin' by bein' me
That's why I dedicate this song to all you did for me (all you did for me)
And I know you didn't mean to, but sometimes you need someone
And in some way, they change you
Even if they ain't there, they still get you through
And for me, I guess that person was you

[Chorus]
And I don't know (I don't know)
If you're ever comin' back, so
If you hear this song (this song)
Whistle so that I know (oh)
That it ain't in vain
When you cross my brain (my brain)
'Cause I hope somewhere (-where)
That you feel the same (yeah!)

[Bridge]
And it goes like
Yeah, alright

[Chorus]
And I don't know (I don't know)
If you're ever comin' back, so (oh)
If you hear this song (this song)
Whistle so that I know (oh)
That it ain't in vain
When you cross my brain (my brain)
'Cause I hope somewhere (-where)
That you feel the same (yeah!)

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
