[Verse 1]
Yeah, alright
Bitch, I'm flowin' intelligence
Most these rappers irrelevant
Best believe when you're approachin' Heaven
Sense of reverence
I got the cleverness
Show most these rappers that I'm better than
All who say they up in here who be actin' competitors
But there's no competition
'Cause most these minds in the game seem to never listen
They look but they do not see
The change that is my mission
My hook's about to blow me up, call that nuclear fishin'
But even my hometown still sleepin' on the kid
That's why I got the national numbers up to prove we're gettin' big
Still I'm from the 307, I couldn't give a half a shit
If you don't wanna fuck with me, that's fine
The world, they missin' it
They said I couldn't do it, yeah, they said I couldn't try
Now everything that they said to me was proven to be a lie
Dreaming With Eyes Open, I'm about to show you why
'Cause I'm dreaming with eyes open with the view from the sky

[Chorus]
Welcome to the new school
Yeah, we your classmates
Ain't gettin' good grades unless it's from the rap game
Yeah, we the A-Team
Weirdest kids to hit the scene
Ain't sure what you're doin', but we're busy livin' out our dreams

[Verse 2]
Yeah, class is in session
Let's talk about the reasons why the rap game depressin'
They're rockin' Jesus pieces, yet the same time they flexin'
I don't think that's how God intended to spread His message
I'm not sayin' that I keep a Bible on my shelf
I'm just sayin' that these rappers often contradict themselves
Then what's "real?" I could really use some help
Everybody say they real, use the word till it's overkill
Stop us then gasp, muscle up and tell 'em how you feel
'Cause you know I'd rather spit to steal than to grip or steal
Every mainstream artist goes and says that they real, so
Are they all fake the day before they get the deal?

[Chorus]
Yeah, welcome to the new school
Yeah, we your classmates
Ain't gettin' good grades unless it's from the rap game
Yeah, we the A-Team
Weirdest kids to hit the scene
Ain't sure what you're doin', but we're busy livin' out our dreams
Yeah, welcome to the new school
Yeah, we your classmates
Ain't gettin' good grades unless it's from the rap game
Yeah, we the A-Team
Weirdest kids to hit the scene
Ain't sure what you're doin', but we're busy livin' out our dreams

[Verse 3]
Kill 'em the second I drop the dope that they seein' my logic
Show them the truth and they got it
Now follow through like a prophet
Shoulder much more than the chains
Rap still got some of a brain
Ain't the only one who came, there's so many doin' the same
We need to be heard if we really want change
Most of the world still never heard of our names
And let's be honest, we all want to get paid
But what truly makes an artist is what brought him to his fame

[Chorus]
Yeah, welcome to the new school
Yeah, we your classmates
Ain't gettin' good grades unless it's from the rap game
Yeah, we the A-Team
Weirdest kids to hit the scene
Ain't sure what you're doin', but we're busy livin' out our dreams
Welcome to the new school
Yeah, we your classmates
Ain't gettin' good grades unless it's from the rap game
Yeah, we the A-Team
Weirdest kids to hit the scene
Ain't sure what you're doin', but we're busy livin' out our dreams

Abstract

Growing up in New Jersey, Luke Terkovich, otherwise known as Abstract, was involved with music at an early age. Learning how to play piano, electric guitar, and the drums were Luke’s first involvement with music — and he did it all before 6th grade. With a move across country from New Jersey to Jackson, Wyoming, the distance between learning and playing new instruments got larger. It wasn’t until several years later that Luke began to mess around with freestyling during his high school years spent at Jackson Hole High. Evolving his newly found musical expression into Raised in Jackson, WY, Abstract is known for his immense musical versatility and affinity for providing uplifting music for a turbulent world. With a knack for storytelling, he provides introspective motivation to all who take the time to dive into his work. Notably known for his remix of Ruth Bs Lost Boy “Neverland” which has garnered hundreds of millions of plays on YouTube, his work with Drumma Battalion and Roze, and his 2016 album Something to Write Home About. He heads a collective known as “A Team Worldwide” 5 musicians from 4 different countries. Producers Drumma Battalion of Norway, Blulake of Sweden, Cryo Music of Scotland, and Abstract. Coming off his first overseas tour with YONAS, the ATWW collective is gearing up to drop Abstracts new album/experience late summer 2018.writing detailed lyrics, he began to find that he could vent the stresses of his everyday life through creating music. Slowly progressing through the years of his new town where he calls home; balancing school, life, and music developed Luke to become Abstract.

Trying to find his sound was a young teenager who just looked to get something written down and then translated into music, and eventually rap. Still in his caterpillar stage of metamorphosis was a young Abstract who released his first ever collection of songs, properly named The Dream.

In 2012, through YouTube, Abstract met Craig McAllister, a producer from Glasgow, Scotland. During that period, Abstract was in the midst of working on On My Own Time and was the first time Craig showed up with Abstract. Afterwards, the duo started to mesh extremely well and produced the five projects, Under Lights & Microscopes, A Life To Live By, Dreaming With Eyes Open, The Science Of Feeling Tall, and We Are The Artist.
